Product Overview

Lactose is a disaccharide composed of glucose and galactose, which exists widely in milk and other dairy products and is one of the most important carbohydrates. Human milk contains 7% lactose, while milk contains about 6% lactose. However, these lactose can not be directly absorbed by human bodies or animals. In order to be digested and absorbed, lactose must first be hydrolyzed into galactose and glucose, and this hydrolysis requires the participation of lactase. Some groups lack lactase, which can easily lead to lactose intolerance after intake of milk or other dairy products. Lactase has two characteristics: β-galactosidase activity and glucosidase activity. The former mainly acts on lactose while the latter mainly acts on cellobiose.

After years of research, Habio developed lactase based on bioengineering technology and core technology. It has excellent characteristics and degradation effect, which is widely used in feed, food and other industries.

​Definition of Activity

Under the conditions of pH4.5 and 37℃, the amount of enzyme needed to produce 1 μmol ONP per minute through the degradation of 3.7g/L ONPG is one unit of enzyme activity, expressed as U/g.
